I spend a lot of time on the water in my Back Cove 33 Paper Moon and I am always surprised to find another great anchorage or destination along our Maine coastline. Last weekend we went to Boothbay Harbor for Independence Day celebrations and fireworks and enjoyed spending time with our Australian Back Cove Importer Jed Elderkin, his wife Evie and their two lovely children. The morning after we set a course for Damariscove Island with our family aboard and what a surprise this place turned out to be.
Under the stewardship of the Nature Conservancy, Damariscove is perhaps one of the best examples of how preservation and conservation can benefit all of us. So, when you are passing Boothbay don’t be lured into the bright lights of town too quickly.Set your course for this magical Island and you’ll discover something truly unique.
