The St. Pete Boat Show begins on Thursday, November 29th in Sunny Florida and we’re looking forward to being there. You should join us! Here’s why…..
1) It’s the largest boat show on the Gulf Coast!
2) Kids Fishing Clinics
3) Free seminars
4) best of all….the Back Cove 34 will be on display!
What is so great about the Back Cove 34? Why do you need to check it out? In two words– usability and low maintenance! This yacht offers tremendous value, great style and modern practicality. Some highlights:
- Below deck is a large and comfortable island berth and a convertible L-settee which can be isolated from the cabin with a curtain.
- On the helm deck the inlaid table is a fine example of the Maine boat builder’s craftsmanship and tradition, evident throughout the Back Cove 34.
- Forward of the dinette, a double mate’s seat is a comfortable perch for the navigator.
- The helm deck is airy and bright with overhead hatches, opening side windows and a center opening windshield.
- A Stidd helm chair provides comfort for the helmsman underway.
- In her cockpit a large, L-shaped bench seat and a fold-away aft facing seat allow comfortable lounging while underway or when anchored in a peaceful cove.
- Engine access is extraordinary, as the helm deck, including the port side dinette, lifts hydraulically to expose the yacht’s mechanical systems below.

Back Cove Yachts has a lot to be thankful for. The company is back to its pre-recession numbers; we have fantastic, hardworking employees and we’re building beautiful boats. What could be better? We have almost 100 Back Cove Associates and built 46 boats in 2012.
As you can see, the associates at Back Cove Yachts have been busy! On December 5th, Back Cove celebrates the 500th Launch. The celebration will take place at the shop and the entire Back Cove Yachts team (almost 100 employees, their family members and Back Cove yacht brokers) will be on hand to celebrate the 500th launch. They will be joined by members of the surrounding Rockland community as well as members of press and media.
Here is a rundown of the number of boats and models built over the last decade:
BC 26 – 57
BC 29 – 204
BC 33 – 95
_____

Back Cove Yachts is proud to announce the
launch of its 500th yacht on Wednesday, December 5th,
2012. The company, which was established
in 2003, has been building composite hard top express powerboats for nearly a

downeast powerboat of the highest quality, while offering an unmatched

On Thursday, November 1st 2012, Back Cove Yachts
had the pleasure of Angus King stopping by for a tour of the production floor.
As Jason Constantine, COO of Back Cove Yachts describes, “He was really
interested in the process of building boats, the technology employed by today’s
builders, and the success those building and servicing boats in the state are
currently experiencing.”
Jason and Kevin Burns, VP of Design and Product Development,
gave Mr. King a tour of the 100,000 sq. ft. facility where the three Back Cove models
(Back Cove 30, Back Cove 34 and Back Cove 37) are built from start to finish.
King shook hands with many associates on the floor and was very interested in
how the plant worked. He enjoyed seeing the entire process; from when the hull
comes out of the mold to the finished wood work.
King appeared pleased to hear that the company was employing
the same number of employees as before the recession. Not only is the
manufacturing industry surviving in Coastal Maine, but it’s thriving.
You don’t have to be running for office to get a tour of the
Back Cove facility. If you’re interested, please feel free to give the Back
Cove Yachts office a call and we’d be happy to accommodate you! 207- 594-8821
