The Downeast 37 has been DECKED. A big moment in the construction of a new model. It all fits! phew!!!
Yesterday the associates used a crane to lift the deck over the hull. After the deck was directly over the hull, the deck got lowered until it was a few feet from the hull to confirm that the fit was accurate.
When the deck is ready to be lowered onto the hull, 5200 sealant is applied along the “shoe box” edge. The associates then install bolts through deck into the hull.
Voila! A boat is born.
